Accell Group secures €100m new trade receivables securitisation powered by Demica

Accell Group, the European market leader in e-bikes, has closed a €100m multi-funder trade receivables securitisation, powered by Demica, the market-leading supply chain finance fintech.

The transaction enables Accell Group to access a new source of capital to support its ambitions to become the number one bicycle manufacturer in Europe across its key segments: e-bikes, cargo and premium traditional bikes, supported by a strong parts and accessories business and based on a customer-centric mindset.

Set up in just 12 weeks, Demica structured the transaction and ran a competitive tender process to identify suitable banks, with Accell selecting Rabobank and ING as senior funders. To support Accell Group’s ongoing growth, the Demica Platform will be used to manage and report on the programme, leveraging its flexibility to add further sellers and jurisdictions as the group grows.

Commenting on the transaction, Jonas Fehlhaber, Group Treasurer at Accell Group, said “We worked in close partnership with the Demica team to deliver our multi-jurisdictional trade receivables securitisation. From initial feasibility analysis, through to funder selection and reporting, we particularly appreciated their deep understanding and experience of the product and process”.

Tom Huntingford, Managing Director, Structuring, Demica, added “We are delighted to have secured this additional liquidity for a leader in electric bicycles. Accell Group have big ambitions so the flexibility of this programme is ideal, enabling it to grow alongside the business.”
